Scoundrel

For 65k dollars? We know who this guy is.

Interesting, first I've heard of this before. I do see some viable alternate explanations (trying to scope out other airports, trying to make sure he wasn't being tailed, etc.) but it does raise some eyebrows.

But it doesn't really have anything to do with this. I'm not trying to say that all non-Comet food references aren't code. Just that there are people who just happen to really love their pizza and hot dogs.

existentialenso

You don't realize how seriously some Chicago people take their hot dogs.

SIMONBARROW

These stories do not refer to the same event. These are all very small scale affairs that took place at different times, one in 2010 and one in 2014 (the top story is undated). In any case, one of them makes it clear that the food was to be prepared at the White House and was not being flown in.

Great work.

It is a little weird that one site says the White House staff doesn't know how to cook hotdogs... but I'm sure that is just a little embellishment to make the local guys seem a bit cooler.

That kind of language isn't that uncommon when comparing experts to people with only basic skills. I'm a professional programmer, and I often complain about how people "don't know how to code" who absolutely do. They're just mediocre at it.

If you care about a really good hot dog, then the WH staff "doesn't know how to cook them."

So why put waitresses in quotes?

Codewow

Counter: Why would they so obviously quote waitresses if they meant something illegal. I wouldn't say a child trafficking ring leader or participant is "stupid" in the sense that they would so blatantly blow their cover.

Then again, like others have said, it could be a way to distract people from a much larger, more difficult code to decipher.

7hrowaway

Nothing in those articles about buying anything. It says the chefs attended to help White House kitchen staff.

65,000 worth?

existentialenso

That almost assuredly included transportation, lodging for the staff, etc.

What about the "waitresses", since the email said :

"If we get the same "waitresses," I'm all for it!!!"

And there was this:

"To celebrate all you hot dogs out there. Aaric, you can participate as well!"

Always good to see doors closing, that means another one has opened somewhere. More focus on even more meaningful things can be done now.
