I am new to all of this and I've noticed many others are too. Please share what websites, web tools, or apps you guys use to research. I've learned Sites that archive and the one to upload my images. Urban dictionary and way back machine. What else?

www.tineye.com is great for discovering the original source of an image - it will show you all existences of the image online and you can go through and look at dates etc.

Some basic stuff for researching businesses in US:

Search for: "SOS [your state] business lookup" and "DOR [your state] business lookup" and "[your city] business lookup" t. SOS = Secretary of State, DOR = Department of Revenue. This will help you find the State's website to look things up.

If you have an address you can try searching "[your State County] parcel viewer" This can help you find the State website that may list the owner and sales history of a commericial/residential property.

Another good research tool: Public Library System. Go to your library website and login. Look for online databases. Here's an example: http://kcls.org/resources-types/databases/ See all those things on that list? Some of those are expensive paid subscription databases that you get to use for free by using your library card. I assume most public libraries have similar tools.

Also, if your browser can't search by image, download a plugin that lets you right click an image and run an image search.

Another kind of cool tool is google correlate, which tries to correlate search results. Here's an example. https://www.google.com/trends/correlate/search?e=comet+ping+pong&t=all# What's correlated with searching for Comet Ping Pong? 1.) Searching for a ticket to DC 2.) "So Others Might Eat" What's number 2 about? Let's look that up...http://some.org/ oh look at that. A charity in the DC area? Could be nothing, but maybe something to look into.

I defend free speech and the right to it, it will, however, not change facts.You can call me a loser, but the very fact that I have put numerous child abusers in jail and saved children is all I need to feel alright with myself. You attacked me , I was not giving you my life story because frankly, you could be anyone or one of them. I gave you a slight look in my life. As for a high horse, you're the one that brought it.Not everyone is cut out for this. You are playing Magnum P.I and have not had to deal with the rl part of rescuing, then having to interview the victims. So good job on playing inspector gadget . But don't kid yourself being there irl is vastly different than mining for information. You and I have got off on a bad start. I just hope we do not end up dead in the back 40.
