I've been seeing this a lot. The Snopes article listed it as "false" basically without refuting anything too. It's almost like they're expecting people will only read the headline.

BBC is quoting Alefantis as saying:

This example is highly selective and the article should (if it wasn't an effort to discredit investigation) have looked at the 'child in a basket' quote in the greater context of Alefantis' Instagram posts AND the sick commentary that accompanies most of these photos.
