I agree it's suspicious to mention his apparent lack of basement when he went on the record claiming to have one before the investigation. He tripped up somewhere, and this might be where we catch him.

But, on the other hand, I doubt the tunnels in the area are related. CPP isn't directly overtop of them, and it would be too much work to connect to them.
