Is gunman at comet ping pong even a real person? ( pizzagate )

The cnn article list the gunman as a 28 yr old white male named 'edgar madison welch'. Sooo.... who the hell is edgar madison welch? Because i cant find him, which is odd because if this person was enraged to the point he would storm this place armed, that would indicate he is online in at least some regard. Is he and im missing it? I sure would love to know more about edgar madison welch, anyone else?

28 years old. From Salisbury, NC. Voter registration says Republican. Had a grand parent die at some point recently, and was also involved in a automobile incident recently. No social medias that I can find. I see a credit on IMDB that says he gets a credit for writing a short, however I doubt it's even the same person. Graduated HS in 07. That's all I've found so far.
