maybe bc there's no upvotes or downvotes here you dumb fucking eddit cuck

DystopianDaze

There are lots of lurkers, some who're aren't used to this type of forum, some have made more than one account and probably quite a few who have gone on with their lives...then there are undoubtedly a bunch of shills watching for opportunities to spread disinfo, discredit, confuse, sabotage and otherwise fuck things up.

Simple answer: The limit of 10 upvoats per day. That amounts to less than you might think, and it's a long, long way to get more. I think you currently need 100 CCP, which means that you need to somehow get people to spend 100 points worth of upvoats on your insightful comments, which is especially hard when the other posters are limited to 10 upvoats too.

You_Alt-Right_bro

Exactly. I tried to upvoat your insightful comment and I was denied. We need a backup for if this place gets taken down

Upvoats are tit to get, if you're not an asshole. Talk to people, outside of this subverse. Lurkers just enjoy watching the world burn. They are the silent majority.

Reddit main pages has millions of viewers and subscribers, but top posts often hover around 4,000-6,000 upvotes (there's some manipulation involved too). The mass majority of Reddit users are lurkers that don't participate in discussion. I am not surprised that there aren't more upvotes on this forum, it's human nature for most people to have a satellite/distant relation with the content of the forum and lurk than to engage. That goes just about anywhere there's online discussion/news sites.

It might just be that aside from lurkers newcomers just don't know how all this works, like myself. And heaven forbid you mess up and someone that's a lifer with this type of stuff just jumps all over your shit for fat fingering or not knowing acronyms or any of the other delicate sensibilities that may get someone offended. For instance, what is up with the four arrow symbol in the posting headers about self toggle text? Means nothing to me. Just saying. And an upvote from me because I just figured it out .

A lot of people can't down vote including me.

V/pizzagate feels more scattered and the theories are a little more out there so people probably subscribed and never came back.

Maybe people were also in the heat of the moment when R/pizzagate when down. And came here only to realize they don't care enough to continue to return.

Also it just seems like a lot of people don't Upvote in general on voat. Comments or post. I have to actively remind myself to up voat on this site for some reason

THE_LIES_OH_THE_LIES

Good points.

But the lurkers? There are 5000?

krisspykriss

I have seen people post that they have been lurking for weeks and joined up just to respond to someones comments. I am sure that happens a lot and then they go back to lurkers. Most people read these sites and the content is provided by a much smaller base.

Fishy-business

Yes , as someone who was once a lurker . It's really easy to just click around absorb info and not Upvote or downvote or say anything.

It was 4000 an hour ago, now it's 6000
