I've been a huge Thomas Pynchon fan for years. The more I looked into pizzagate, the more I was reminded of his work. So, knowing that his latest novel, Bleeding Edge (2013), has to do with the internet, 9/11, government conspiracies, etc., I decided to read it, figuring it would be comforting to read something quasi-similar but purely fictional. Then, tonight, on page 106, I read this:

"Listen, a suggestion, you're from D.C., try the self-help section Politics & Prose..."

Again, I have no reason to believe this is anything but coincidence. It looks like a fairly high-profile bookstore, so it shouldn't be surprising to see it mentioned. Still, rightly or wrongly, I feel compelled to post about it. If nothing else, let this serve as a book recommendation; it's been a welcome respite from reality while still being weirdly relevant and giving me a weird kind of perspective on pizzagate etc.
