Can we take a minute to remember that a private company is a private company ( pizzagate )

I've been seeing a lot of bitching about people complaining about their videos about pizzagate being removed from YouTube or a tweet getting deleted and so on and so forth but these are private companies and if they wanted to let's use YouTube as an example... if YouTube decided that they didn't want to have any pizzagate videos on their side at all they'd be well within their right to do that it doesn't matter what you think it's not a conspiracy it's just a private fucking company deciding what they want on there website it'd be like if you had a house that had a big wall facing a major highway that had no windows on it and some random person just decided to put a large advertisement on the side of your house for something that you didn't agree with politically or morally you'd be well within your right to remove that because it's your house YouTube is there own house they have a right to decide what is on their house or in their house when you go onto YouTube it's also like walking into somebody's house if they don't want you there they're well within their rights to keep you the fuck out... Twitter has a right to delete whatever content they don't want you sharing on their platform Vimeo Dailymotion they have a right to delete whatever they want to they don't even have to legally tell you that they're doing it and then all these people like oh I'll file a lawsuit against them right you're going to file a lawsuit against YouTube who is owned by Google who pretty much owns everything now you don't think that they're going to come out you will become like 20 fucking lawyers you don't think that they're going to rip apart their terms of service and find 10,000 ways you violated their purposefully over complicated terms of service contract and then you have to worry about AdSense coming after you because technically if you violate any of the rules of Google AdSense and receive money on a video that Google thanks that should not have been monetized they could have you charged with theft by deception because if a video violates the terms of service of YouTube then it doesn't qualify for you to receive money from AdSense so therefore that becomes illegally obtained money which is theft... So I'm going to go before I mysteriously keep getting me all your posting too much please wait 30 seconds thing that never goes away mysteriously when you start posting things that contradict The Narrative of whatever section you're talking in it's really amazing how when you start questioning people and going against what the majority is saying you suddenly find yourself not able to reply to anybody how fucking mysterious is that almost like this whole site is set up to be a Perpetual Echo chamber

Ahh, yes.. I have no idea what a private company is, even though I am a co-owner of one. In my case, a LLC, where I own a rather large portion of it, with one partner, and 12 minor investors. The government has not invested. If we decide to take the company public, and get it listed on some exchange, this means anyone can invest in it, and then have a say at our board meetings, and vote on various directions we should take (if such actions are needed).

You don't think the big pension funds have a say at the board meetings? They are enormous investors in these companies, and tell the companies what they can and cannot do. 75% of Microsoft is owned by large funds. Many of these are from State, Federal, and local municipalities. Some have estimated that as much as 50% of Microsoft is owned by various government institutions. If those various government funds tell Microsoft to spy on their customers, they kind of have to.

What if Google was 100% owned by the government? Would that be a "private company" in your eyes?

Except that these companies are no longer private - they are public. As they are publicly traded companies, the Federal, State, and local governments invest much of our tax dollars into these companies for their pension funds. Our tax dollars also helps put in regulations that keep their competitors out of business. Should my tax dollars be used to shut me up in addition to making sure I can't compete with them?

I would also note that the cozy relationship these businesses have had with the government in recent years. Members of the Council on Foreign Relations (which includes Google, Facebook, and many others) are actively directing foreign policy. This was proven in Hillary Clinton's emails. If we're not going to arrest them for sedition, and co-opting portions of the executive branch, then we have to acknowledge them as another arm of the government. Government has no right to censor my free speech.
