On what grounds? To file a lawsuit you need to be very specific on what laws were broken and what evidence there is. While there is a LOT of circumstantial evidence and a lot of "coincidences", it's not enough. There are FAR too many cases where a DA won't bring charges on someone for crimes even though the have a confession or actual, physical evidence... even video footage. They don't bring charges because they don't think they can get a jury to convict them. All we have right now is a convoluted mess of ideas that are related and creepy.

If they couldn't successfully prosecute R Kelly with all of that evidence, including video tapes of him with minors, nobody would touch this with a ten foot pole.

Well they are trying to make it illegal to gossip and spread rumors that's completely against the first amendment. Investigationally, there are some promising directions

Trying to do something isn't against the law. Doing something against the law is. But if something like that happens, I'm pretty sure there will be lawsuits immediately. The EFF is usually good for that.
