Holy crap - I just looked up the "Associated Press", the news agency that's writing about Norway's trafficking scandal.

Your title is really misleading, man. It should say "AP lays off 25 staffers -- let's dig further and find out if they're silencing people who want to expose child trafficking". THEN it would be legit. You shouldn't set it up to look like you have evidence of something when it's still totally in the realm of speculation. This kind of makes us look dumb IMO.

People are more likely to keep quiet when they are on the payroll, not after they are fired.

Suppose one or more of our intelligence agencies is compromised to some degree. If authorities wanted to stop investigations into human trafficking rings or child pornography, they wouldn't fire agents---they would assign compromised agents to do that work, make a few inconsequential arrests, and ignore the rest.

IF that is the reason, (or one of the reasons for some of those journalists getting fired), than I'd hope it would create a whole lot more David Seaman's. We need more like him, more like Kevin Shipp, more like Edward Snowden, more like Chelsea Manning ect. to really break through to the truth.

They took them down because the licensing agreement doesn't let stuff stay up forever. Easy way to prove this wrong is find an AP story on NYT WaPo or ABC that is older than the Norwegian story.

I studied journalism and used to work in news, and they are able to use these stories as long as they want. They all pay for access/publishing rights to AP and other news wire stories; there is no licensing agreement that would require them to take something down after a month.

There are shitloads of them, just search "associated press" on the NYT website. Here's just one example, a story from October of this year:

I did some more digging and the licensing angle seems legit. Here are some other articles that have expired from the New York Times:

It certainly doesn't hurt to take a good look at things like this, but I just think it's generally best to hold off on the wild speculation if we're A) taking Pizzagate seriously, and B) trying to get others to take Pizzagate seriously.

The title of the post here definitely qualifies as "wild speculation," IMO.
