Come on guys... the whole reason the requirement is in in place is so that new accounts, namely potential shills and bots, can't distort the stack. The rule is supposed to allow those who put forward community-certified content to have an extra downvote option. If people want greater sway over the investigation, shouldn't they have to earn that right? Am i wrong?

If shills need the power to downvote I think they will somehow acquire the power to downvote. (Source: they have) If I need to downvote I have to offer intelligent content numerous times in order to gain enough approval to do so?

Will a shill's up and downvotes remain if their account is deleted?

Its pretty easy for us to notice the shills, its also to our benefit to upvoat for any worthwhile posts and give newcomers a few upvoats here and there to give them a chance to feel like they are being rewarded so they stay longer.

I am not sure that you can gage it like that, I too have only been here a couple of weeks,maybe a atd more but I post a lot,add comments and make suggestions. I am not sure how this whole voat thing works , I am old over 35, so maybe you know something I do not. Maybe you can explain the voats. because to be honest I never cared if anyone liked what I posted, I posted what I thought was helpful. So what do the voats do exactly?

Are you sure they're downvoating much? Maybe they are using upvoat tactics more since downvoats aren't super common on here. Always look for downvoated posts/comments, but remain skeptical of what's got the most upvoats.

On the other hand, if someone were to go shill hunting they could look for people who put forward shitty posts that mysteriously accumulated a ton of upvotes. Whereas if we accept upvote charity posts, we wouldn't. Of course this wouldn't stop them from upvoting/downvoating and lurking, but still, 100 points isn't so tough. I think it'd be better just to remind the community to remember to upvote appropriate content.
