Theft of military intellectual property (IP). I deal with export control information. We have to make sure that IP stuff is not handed off to the wrong people by accident or stolen. There are legal teams to decide who has access to what. If we catch somebody hacking our systems we drop the log with the FBI who in turn captures whoever was doing the hacking.

Sometimes you'll have green-cards or descendants of immigrants who have a feeling of pride for the motherland, or who have been sent on an active mission, or just looking for a buck working inside of your company as a technician, a janitor, whatever who get access deeper than they should (think of it as super phishing) because there are to many policies and not enough organization (it costs a lot to hold secrets). Anyway, they'll snoop where they shouldn't be and hand off information though back channels to whatever country.

My assumption with the two articles I linked is that part of the Iranian deal to retrieve some soldiers who wandered into their water

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_U.S.%E2%80%93Iran_naval_incident

was to pay them off with $1.3B (released from what we had held during the embargo) (this one is relatively common knowledge) and to release the Iranian spies. These spies, who stole aerospace military IP (top dollar stuff and most of it goes above export control into the top secret category) and I don't know what else (probably nuclear power plant fun stuff), have been slowly and quietly pardoned by Obama after the loud noise that the $1.3B made in the media to avoid further political issues.

It appears he's letting go spy's. Wonder if that was part of the deal where he shipped over $1.3B to Iran.

Almost like they were sanctioned internal attacks that got caught. Good call.

I am not a racist by any means, but have been curious, is there any place to see the race of the almost 1000 pardons he has given? I'm curious if any Caucasians have been pardoned. He has already given out more than all other previous presidents have COMBINED.

ghost_marauder

You can look at the list here.

https://www.justice.gov/pardon/obama-pardons

Find White sounding names.

pizza_gator

why are less than 1% of the pardons listed there? There are two other webpages listing pardons of previous presidents on justice.gov that were taken down on november 23rd according to wikipedia

ghost_marauder

???

pizza_gator

That list shows like 30 people pardoned. Obama has pardoned thousands of people according to wikipedia. I can't find a full list though, even the sources for wikipedia were taken down shortly after pizzagate started blowing up.

ghost_marauder

True, I forgot about the non-violent drug ones (as claimed by the papers) he pardoned.

Thanks.

Good catch.. Def appears to be worthy of investigating

micha_

Great idea.

WellSetTable

Good thread thanks for the info and it doesn't surprise me the least bit.

NeedPolyGF

That's a brilliant idea. I wonder if it would be worthwhile to list all major positions/occupations that would tend to attract pedophiles. They seem to go for all major positions of public office. But many likely would go for positions in the penal system, law enforcement, courts, juvenile court/probation, education system, child care, health care, EMT, etc.

Infopractical

Heck, there could be pedophiles on the pardon lists for the past few presidents.

Marc Rich was only discovered because somebody did the leg work.

The two reference pages with the list of people pardoned that appear on justice.gov were taken down on november 23rd. Post-pizzagate ....

Good idea.

Excellent idea

Should be easy enough to check out his pardons and what offenses they committed.

Then returning and posting a thread where you have something other than your word.

HoldenDickens

i looked. its all non violent crimes and drug offences, im telling you what someone thats doing time there with them told me. nothing alse.

hang_em_high

Just taking a quick glance almost all the recent commutations are for crack and cocaine. I thought it would be more for pot offenders. The recent pardons are all for the prisoner swap with Iran, and appear to be serious white collar crimes like money laundering and wire fraud. Many of them sold tech to Iran ... ugh

The 4th world knows!! Get names if you can and see what businesses they run. This could be a good lead.
