If you dig up the CPP episode of Guy Fieri's show it exposes why they removed the paintings "5 years ago". That televised look inside CPP was about that long ago, so they probably took them down in anticipation for Guy Fieri.

This would mean that they are conscious that they are into some weird shit and didn't want the world to see it back then.

This has been talked about before a few times. He probably got lost on the way to it like everyone else that would ever go there because of this horrible design. Those are the same bathrooms that contained strange pictures like the one that was supposedly defaced to say "Shut up and fuck".

I think earlier in this video an employee claims most the paintings in the place were removed "5 years ago" which adds to the interesting time line of Comet Ping Pong.
