FYI/SA - Be very careful about even innocuous references. Over a serious of posts you may reference:

"My wife" "Healthcare professional" "2 kids" "When I was in the Navy"

In 4 separate posts. Well guess what? Those "selects" just narrowed you down to 10,000 people out of 330M. Add one or two more like "my dog" (think dog tags) and "when I was in Europe" (passport records) and someone with the right database(s) could use those 6 data points to narrow you down to 20 people. They can pinpoint who you are if you are not truly anonymous and practice good counter measures. Be careful.

This warning is correct. However, I don't know why anyone would be posting PII here, for any reason, if the mission is to collect evidence against the pedophiles. Just don't post PII and you should almost be okay (I say almost, because syntax, orthography and other habits of speech can also be used to disambiguate posters in select cases).

It's not the PII that you would think of. I will try and be as vague as possible - I looked at a comment on a (recent) thread, where the OP mentioned the geographic area he was from, specifically narrowed it down to maybe 200,000 people. Then the OP mentioned in OTHER posts about other activities and "life milestones." Someone with the right access could pinpoint that person, or at least narrow it down to a handful. I'm not talking about Joe Civilian either.

I'm suggesting that I've seen a lot of people make comments over time which have reduced their identity (as a US Citizen) from a large number to a very small number based on tangential PII they have posted. Little pieces here and there. I want everyone to be safe. We do not know what is coming. I don't want the guy who breaks something big to realize a shill has been following them for weeks and pinpoint who they are because of seemingly vague references. Sheepdog.
