I have started to learn that major news stories often link into their agenda, and you have to ask why this story was everywhere for something that happened over three years ago.
Is the Yahoo hack story from 2013, made into a massive story yesterday, an effort to both chill our investigation efforts and to collect our identities through yahoo (added security to sign back to your account)?
The message is that they may have your info...plus they are using the need for added security (via another email or phone number) to verify that you are linked to the account.

Nope. You only know 1... maybe 2 people who use yahoo. And half of them use it as a spam address to give out.
