It's important to keep this in mind, because that is how pedophile Jeffrey Epstein acquired one or more of his underage victims from her parents in Eastern Europe. Sadly, that victim - Nada Marcinkova - would later turn aggressor (allegedly).( 2 ) I would guarantee that there are many more pedophiles who acquire kids through this manner as well. These kids would not be reported missing because of parental consent. That doesn't make it any less illegal though.

Haiti has a well known system for this known as "restavek," which is Creole for "to stay with." However, there is also a related term for these kids, particularly females, which is "there for that" because so many end becoming sex slaves.( 3 ) One relatively wealthy Florida couple, the Pompees, acquired a child in this way to serve as their slave and their son used the girl for sexual purposes.( 4 ) Not surprisingly, because they were rich, father and son fled the country safely with no extradition and the mother ended up with a slap on the wrist. I also noted that they were dropping the girl off at a modeling school - the modeling industry also seems to be heavily involved in child sex trafficking, but that will be a different write up.

Similarly, the concept of "child marriage" also leads to child trafficking according to several reports and is prevalent throughout the world.( 5 ) Again, this would have parental consent.
