Then why do they need to review updates before approving them if they're not going to bother verifying them in the first place?

Seriously, this is supposedly harming him so much (and probably has hurt his business) yet he puts this permanently on his IMDB page? That makes no sense. Unless someone else is controlling it I guess, but I doubt that.

The acting credit makes perfect sense when viewed alongside the understanding that Fox News is owned by Fox Entertainment Group and is not actual news. As far as editing IMDB, I got this from Wikipedia:

"Due to the time required for processing submitted data or text before it is displayed, IMDb is different from user-contributed projects like Wikipedia, Discogs or OpenStreetMap in that contributors cannot add, delete, or modify the data or text on impulse, and the manipulation of data is controlled by IMDb technology and salaried staff."

IMDB How to add credits to your page.

"To complete your update, click ‘Submit these updates’ and your changes will be sent to the IMDb Data Editors for processing. You will also receive an email confirmation of your submission.

Please Note : We often need to check your updates before we complete them. The time it takes us to do this can vary. Please see here for our current waiting times."

Exactly, none of those cable news channels are actual news. They just read the news and play emotions. The purpose has historically been to sell advertising space. They are all in the format of "news entertainment". Local news syndications are closer to actual news.
