Im not a big fan of Alex Jones either, but i would think he's watching his mouth after the "fake news" law was passed recently. ( pizzagate )

My guess is that being on the wrong side of that law after it's implemented (in other words, expressing an opinion that Soros disagrees with) could get you labeled any of a number of ways. The guy has kids. End of story.

Not as simple as that, I suspect someone paid him a visit and made a move on him. He is now like a dog with all bark and no bite. They always never bothered with him as he was never talking about serious conspiracies until pizzagate came along.
