I hit the same thing when I was trying to join, I just refreshed the registration page every couple of hours until I could register and here I am. Just have people you're talking to outside of here be patient and try later until registered.

This isn't relevant to pizzagate. EVERY new discussion post needs to cite at least one source and provide an explanation as to why you believe it is relevant or furthers the investigation. 7. Where the title is not sufficient to explain the connections/content of a link, the body must explain the connection.

There was lots of cyrililc spam in /v/gifs and /v/eli5 from newly created accounts. I guess it's invite only until there is something in place to prevent that.

unpaid_orgy_intern

Funny how this happened right after pizzagate arrived. I wonder if they're related...

Never get so invested in any platform that its downfall leads to the downfall of your own convictions or efforts. Hold onto whatever evidence and information you can gather/share from anywhere, vet it thoroughly and take what is solid, then disseminate it by any means necessary. Expect the worst but use what is available for as long as it is available.

tamaman

I guess cleaning up the shills.

One way to deter shills from attempting to hide information would be to make it mandatory to accompany a thread downvoat with a reason in the comments. I don't see this a necessary for comment downvoats, but if someone is downvoating a thread and is forced to make a comment, we could at least see who they are and why they don't approve of the thread. This would certainly add more transparency.

militant

What I'd like is to be able to see who downvoats/upvoats stuff, then it would be so easy to know who is most likely a shill and who isn't. Anyone knows if the mods can see that at least?

organic1

Upvoats, not so much unless the thread is about normalizing pedophilia or something like that. And don't fool yourself about the mods because not all of them are here to fight the good fight.

militant

Of course, I'm not implying they are. I just want to know if they know or not, because that's very telling in my book.

reasonedandinformed

Yes...but at the expense of allowing the platform to expand to others. I have done outreach to point people here. Now they are blocked from helping.

Le_Squish

Voat is not a multimillion dollar corporation run by a media conglomerate like Reddit is...it is run by two dudes with full-time jobs and paid for out of pocket by them and with user donations. Don't be ignorant and entitled.

These are the types of ghetto fixes that we have to endure for the sake of our community and sometimes we reach a point where we literally cannot afford to grow anymore.

Voat does not exist to cater to pizzagate. And refugees that refuse to contribute to the wider community does not benefit voat in the long term anyway.
