isthisreality

This may be a dumb question- but if you DID have the key, then how would you use it to unlock the file?

snowmandan

I'm pretty sure you just run it through a decryption program or something. Sorry, I'm not the right person to ask.

WhatNowFred

$ openssl aes-256-cbc -d -in WLinsurance-nnn.aes -out Decrypted_file.dat

isthisreality

linux? sorry. i am really computer retarded when it comes to this kind of stuff.

dutch-justice

'irs asks bitcoin to give them the identities of all transactions' ... This does not make ANY sense. Calling BS

snowmandan

This happened though. Do you want evidence?

bdmthrfkr

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/15/bitcoin-user-battles-irs-in-court-over-access-to-private-data.html

Absolutely true, if worded incorrectly. The IRS went after Coinbase, a major exchange.

weezwag

Agreed. Have any of those people even used bitcoin before?

neuroelectronic

I guess nobody here knows about xkeyscore

WhatNowFred

Oh, we know about it, and understand. But it's about e-mail communications. Unless you want to tell me it also sniffs IRC, Java-based chat rooms, and BitNet, too?

mixelplfft

whoever cracks this is going to go down in history - pure legend. good luck. we're still watching and supporting.

EyesWideScared

you'd have to be really dumb to have the keys and not be able to figure out a way to share them with the world. Heck...just go on a computer at a public library, and start spamming it to everyone in the world. Post it here on VOAT. You could run into a library and be done with getting it out to thousands of people within 10 minutes.

micha_

Technically this is all BS IMO. The keys are a few bytes. No way to prevent them from being spread. No sane person would "hide" the data in a bitcoin blockchain, if he just could post the private key on the net. xkeyscore can not prevent posting a few bytes of text. IMO total BS.

Mommyplayer571

They said it's some type of malware or backdoor that they can't be posted when online. xkeyscore they called it.
Really all the oil smuggling, drug and arms sales, pedo etc billions of dollars. Not to mention 911 and 311. There is nothing they would hold back at this point.

Mommyplayer571

They actually said 3 things made it hard to post information but I am only regurgitating.

echelon bullrun xkeyscore

Baluga

xkeyscore is the system NSA uses to index and seacrh all the email information they have access to. Probably lots of other information besides that.

willofthewarrior

Total BS. Anyone can search the chain. The keys aren't in there. Maybe WL tried to upload them there but we have no way of knowing.

Baluga

Data is there, but it's encoded. There's a program that can read Wikileaks' cablegate from the blockchain. Similar could exist for other data, but it's not clear text, and it's difficult to figure out the encoding and reverse engineer the files.

snowmandan

Right. Okay.

Mommyplayer571

I think we mere civilians should leave than other chan thread alone. They need privacy I think.

snowmandan

I disagree.

Mommyplayer571

Well the last comment got me thinking that there is nowhere else some of them can post anymore. I think they need more experienced programmers in C C+ and another language they said. It's good to be aware of the issue but it could be reckless to link to their thread. This is a very serious situation.

snowmandan

I don't have a reason to post there, so I won't. I'm merely trying to spread the conversation. They've been taken down again and again. There is only so many times the CIA can shut it down until it's solved again two weeks later.

UncookedSpirit

lol what are these supposed new empty sections of the block chain

show me one now or GTFO

snowmandan

Look for it yourself. Don't expect things to magically come to you at your will.

Nahte27

So weird, I was reading this post and comments when both VOAT and Reddit went offline at the exact same time.

Make a backup of the posted image folks!

DoNotGiveUp

Someone help. I was reading a thread on reddit on this topic prior to Reddit going down. It was on their front page. After it came back up, I can no longer find the post. Anyone have this issue or am I remembering it wrong?

DoNotGiveUp

Thank you. I had the sub wrong.

Dressage2

Remember it is said, "If you control the media, you control the masses." It is just crazy, but true. If you cannot get the truth out, no one will know other than by pony express and crows/pigeons!

MolochHunter

normally that might be true, but we ae living in a day and age where most people KNOW the MSM is full of bull. Look at the survey today - despite unprecedented media collusion and a month long satration bombing propaganda campaign, only 29% of americans are confident Russia swayed the election
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-20/71-americans-dont-believe-russia-was-responsible-election-related-hacks

Dressage2

I am glad so many people aren't falling for the crap.

ThorTheWonderful

Likewise with the education system is grooming children in massive numbers. Gas lighting and grooming an entire civilization.

UglyTruth

Assuming that the story isn't a psyop to induce paranoia and waste time, sharing the keys simply involves proving that they work by releasing something verifiable from the insurance files and including the keys with the proof. The Streisand effect is very real, if there's something to it then how come there's no evidence that people actually have access to the insurance data?

snowmandan

Sheer public awareness. Absolute transparency. We want to know the truth. If we have to "hang them in the streets" like they're afraid of, we will do it. However, if we really want to fix what is wrong in the world, we must advocate peace. Peacefully demanding proof of life from Assange. Peacefully demanding truth. The evidence is apparent. The consequences are obviously severe. It's time for people to start giving a shit and demanding truth and justice.

ThorTheWonderful

You can advocate peace till you're dead, war is war! And that is what this is! If Trump does force action on this as soon as possible, then we will go to war!

UglyTruth

Your right to not sit on your hands, but the civil justice system itself is corrupt . The best form of evidence is an affidavit .

mysecretidentity

I call bullshit. if one person discovered the actual keys they could write it on a piece of paper make a thousand photocopies and drop them everywhere. or take a picture of it and upload email and message it everywhere. or just copy and paste it.

micha_

As suspicious it is, that we have no sign of life from Assange, I can hardly believe, that he was not prepared and made everything dependent on internet access! Assange and Wikileaks has been very professional. And only total technical dummies rely on the working infrastructure of the internet as insurance...

Additionally I want to add, without knowing the Wikileaks-DMS-system in detail, to my knowledge, the data has been spread a long time ago already! It is encrypted. There is no need to spread it again. All that is needed is the private key for decryption. A few bytes! And there is no way, preventing a few bytes to be spread. One picture on a webpage could contain all data. Even a small sheet of paper.

To me this description does not make technically sense at all. Lots of technical language, to make it seem important, but zero facts and most importantly: technically it does not make sense. IMO BS.

mysecretidentity

unless..... JA is and always was an alphabet plant... to my knowledge only leakers ever ended up dead or arrested and nothing very damning was ever released. Only what they wanted u to know. Maybe someone tried submitting something HUGE and the only way to keep up appearances of being legit while preventing that release was this huge shit show charade.

dindonufin

As suspicious it is, that we have no sign of life from Assange, I can hardly believe, that he was not prepared and made everything dependent on internet access! This, this, this and more this.

snowmandan

The claim that some of the people who tried to share the keys still haven't been heard from means nothing to you? Who knows what the fuck they're doing to these guys. Look at the files yourself. Look at the blockchain transaction history and manipulation over time. The evidence is there. Edit:

because xkeyscore exists and if you find the files or try to share them while you're online you internet is instakill. doesnt matter how many proxies and underwater vpns you have there's plenty of hardware backdoors to fuck your shit up. if you try to post them you will just insta ded that site. not even the max level shills can explain how deep af darkweb sites that are made just for this go down as soon as that content hits them. everyone ended up in here not because they wanted to hide but cause they flat out could not make a thread that lasted more than 2 minutes on any other site. this aint no game. and when this thread is found and flooded all evidence of this shit will disappear from normies forever. thats why most people in this shit are from other countries now.

etherael

This is bullshit, you're either LARPing or ignorant.

Look at the blockchain transaction history and manipulation over time. The evidence is there. Edit:

The entire point of a blockchain is that it is impossible to manipulate the transaction history over time.

many proxies and underwater vpns you have there's plenty of hardware backdoors to fuck your shit up.

Even if there were six million layers of crazy deep packet inspection that was capable of inspecting all cleartext traffic in the world in real time and magically exploiting some not even known to be existent hardware flaw to zap every single piece of digital hardware capable of running a TCP/IP stack , which is almost impossibly complex to begin with, the simple fact is that strong, good cryptography is impenetrable (and the people that are running operations like wikileaks are amongst the most competent users thereof), and the keys could easily have been published directly to something like eternitywall, and there's fuck all anybody could do about it with their impossibly hardcore cleartext DPI and hardware backdoor combination.

Technology is not magic, and the state is not omnipotent, get a grip.

dontsuicidemebro

Wish I could upvote more than once.

mysecretidentity

tbh seems like a larp. There's no "tried" to share the keys. Either someone shares them or not, if anyone had actually cracked the keys and wanted them out they would be out. Lots of people have the block chain. I'm not certain but I'd assume once you have it you can unplug from the Internet to analyze and extract.

snowmandan

Explanation from the thread.

because xkeyscore exists and if you find the files or try to share them while you're online you internet is instakill. doesnt matter how many proxies and underwater vpns you have there's plenty of hardware backdoors to fuck your shit up. if you try to post them you will just insta ded that site. not even the max level shills can explain how deep af darkweb sites that are made just for this go down as soon as that content hits them. everyone ended up in here not because they wanted to hide but cause they flat out could not make a thread that lasted more than 2 minutes on any other site. this aint no game. and when this thread is found and flooded all evidence of this shit will disappear from normies forever. thats why most people in this shit are from other countries now.

standalone

Evidence of Wikileaks using the Bitcoin blockchain to timestamp files, yes.

Evidence of there being private keys encoded in the Bitcoin transaction data: absolutely not.

Claims of people having found the keys and yet failed to publish them are fake. Publishing a private key in a way that cannot be undone is trivial: post it on Steem, Ethereum or on any other blockchain that allows large custom data fields. Can be done within 5mn of finding the key and after that the cat is out of the bag.

There is also Freenet and dozens of darknet forums where stuff will get picked up faster than any state actor will have he time to clean.

Anyone who has any basic knowledge of the crypto scene knows that. Someone smart enough to successfully extract steganographied content out of random Bitcoin transaction data already knows how to effectively and irreversibly publish said data.

The best explanation for there still being no key published is that this alledged endchan breakthrough is bullshit. Yes, the very claim you have been making everywhere around the web OP including on multiple reddit and on here ... is baseless sensationalist bullshit.

seenoevil

Its very hard to replicate a personality and the hannity conversation is fucking assange.

+1

snowmandan

You know what, it could be sensational bullshit. I fully recognize that possibility, thank you for bringing it up. Honestly, I would fully recognize it as the most convincing LARP I've seen. Now hear me out.

I don't think spreading information is a bad thing. It gets people motivated. Everyone lives in a state of caution and fear. We shouldn't have to live that way. Free thought and questioning reality should be encouraged. We know that we are being fed a load of bullshit by those in power. They've been lying to the public's faces for decades. We are on the brink of exposing something big. The intense censorship on the internet has made it apparent.

You don't think the CIA has the power to fully take down any opposition the moment it is publicly available? Your predetermined notions are preventing you from taking in new information and new evidence.

standalone

So you are fighting globalist propaganda and desinformation by ... posting yourself propaganda and desinformation? Look, I'm not at all against activism, if I was I wouldn't be involved here for god's sake. But there is a way to write headlines so that they are factual. You could have writen "endchan.xyz offline. WL insurance files keys possibly found. Some users worry about crackdown and possible Internet shutdown". Instead of what you decided that everything you read had to be true (although you had no way to know it) and decided to post here and on Reddit /r/conspiracy and /r/WhereIsAssange and present things as facts. That's very poor judgement. By doing that, you are doing the same thing as MSM journalists and CTR shills. You are just creating more noise and confusion, and making relevant facts and discussions more difficult to find.

The sad thing is that what you posted about was interesting. Had you just presented the raw facts and refrained from spinning them into a sensationalist story, it could have made a very positive contribution to this sub.

snowmandan

Sorry if you thought my first post was sensational. I made sure this title was not. I'm just trying to get the word everywhere, man because this really is a big deal. This may be the most important few weeks in the history of the internet. And the fact that anyone can contribute is why I am spreading the word anywhere I can. Real, new documents have been released. Sorry I know you probably don't like pdfs but I haven't had the chance to convert them. This one is about the NSA and backdoors. https://endchan.xyz/.media/ccdfd444c624cda937caeb1119b978f8-applicationpdf.pdf If you actually did what they say to do and decode the blocks according to the instructions, you'd see for yourself.

Chill out, man. This could be big. There is a lot of evidence behind this and it's only the beginning.

Mommyplayer571

Well they must have uncovered something or all those threads wouldn't have been deleted. All the shills on PizzaGate are damning evidence as well. And I see shilling on this topic also. If you think it's false why go to the effort to voice your opinion? Do you enjoy putting others down or is it your job to argue with those who are proposing this Wikileaks BlockChain data is important?

standalone

If you think it's false why go to the effort to voice your opinion?

Debunking sensationalist and baseless claims is an integral part of the necessary chores to be done on this sub to keep it clean and fact based. Sorry if that doesn't fit your shill agenda.

is it your job to argue with those who are proposing this Wikileaks BlockChain data is important?

Quote where I have said anything negative against the idea of searching the Bitcoin transaction data. I'm not convinced Assange would have put the keys there but I'm not against checking it anyway. What I am against is going around the Internet posting sensationalist claims that endchan has been shutdown (oh look, it's already back up..), private keys to the insurance files have been found (baseless claim), that hackers who found the keys are on the run (that happens only in cheesy Hollywood screenplays), or that the Internet is going to be shutdown (again, ridiculous baseless nonsense).

snowmandan

Reddit is currently down for maintinence. Really doubt that site functionality is their priority lately.

ThorTheWonderful

Which keys are we talking about now?

snowmandan

The insurance file keys.

ThorTheWonderful

These ones?

pre-commitment 1: John Kerry 4bb96075acadc3d80b5ac872874c3037a386f4f595fe99e687439aabd0219809

snowmandan

Honestly, I think the consensus is that it's all in there. I was talking about the one from June 3. Here's the magnet link.

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:41b179c71088ff5032ad8517c9ff5a3f40c7490f&dn=2016-06-03%5Finsurance.aes256&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.leechers-paradise.org%3A6969

ThorTheWonderful

I've already got that file, but what the hell is it? A disk image or what. I can't open it with 7zip or anything I have.

snowmandan

Don't know. We will soon.

squidicuz

It is encrypted data and the keys to access it are possibly now hidden in plain sight?

ThorTheWonderful

So how do you add the keys to decrypt them?

Doc_Holiday

Is this part of that endchan LARP you posted? Or is this something else?

snowmandan

Good one, hombre.

webofslime

If this is credible, and I can't tell one way or the other, then it should be the Internet's number one priority.

Certainly, there are people who I know in real life who are passionate about this and feel it is legit.

It is also heavily censored, so it may be that no one knows if it is true or not, but it is making people in charge very nervous.

snowmandan

This is why I think it should be taken seriously. It is a fact that the blockchain was fucked with when they said it was. It is a fact that there is information embedded in the blockchain. There is evidence that the infrastructure of the Internet in America has been fucked with lately. The thread on r/conspiracy is being downvoted heavily and I will repost if it doesn't make it to the front. This is the absolute most important topic. Anyone who is capable should actively contribute to pulling keys from the blockchain and seeding the correct wikileaks insurance file.

CeepsNo

Claim in one of the endchan threads: they deleted a block

How can I verify this? Edit: I also have 1 insurance file dl'd early november. But I cant exactly check the hash with WL if they are compromised and I still havnt figured out how to go from, like I said before, jean3 output to... anything. File headers or whatever. Who can I get in touch with on something that isnt discord to learn? I will give it a shot to learn more tomorrow. But I am still skeptical. This could just be an elaborate larp or time waster.

snowmandan

I really think that based on the blockchain manipulation, Assange's lack of POL, the world events yesterday, the manipulation of the infrastructure of the internet in America, and the recognizable intense censorship, all fact, would point to this not being a LARP, especially with the complexity of it, and the real files that have been publicly shared so far. Honestly, I'd love to give you info or point you in the right direction, but like I said I have no idea. I simply try to steer the conversation on these topics to be productive and share what I've gathered in the last year.

snowmandan

Please, if your PC has the capability to run these programs, and if you are willing to learn this strange and slightly complicated process, do what you can to get in touch with these guys and decentralize the effort. This is the big Kahuna everyone, if this gets out, pizzagate will have it's victory.

dindonufin

big Kahuna

Who talks like this? Sounds like some shit out of a cheesy movie from the 1980s. How much are they paying you? Whatever the number, it's too much.

Try harder, kiddo!

micha_

What is complicated? The data has been spread and is asymmetrically encrypted. All that is needed is the private key. Why use a Bitcoin blockchain?

snowmandan

The key is being blocked from the internet.

because xkeyscore exists and if you find the files or try to share them while you're online you internet is instakill. doesnt matter how many proxies and underwater vpns you have there's plenty of hardware backdoors to fuck your shit up. if you try to post them you will just insta ded that site. not even the max level shills can explain how deep af darkweb sites that are made just for this go down as soon as that content hits them. everyone ended up in here not because they wanted to hide but cause they flat out could not make a thread that lasted more than 2 minutes on any other site. this aint no game. and when this thread is found and flooded all evidence of this shit will disappear from normies forever. thats why most people in this shit are from other countries now.

micha_

Do you know what a key is? A few bytes! The key could be posted in every forum posting, on Facebook, in every picture. A few bytes cannot be posted! Ridiculous.

zoltan907

Are you saying this is only "slightly complicated"? How much technical knowledge does a person have to have?

snowmandan

Find out for yourself! I'm trying to get people interested. You seem interested. If you know nothing, read about how bitcoin and the blockchain work. That in itself is kind of hard to wrap your head around, but once you grasp the concept and devote time to it, it shouldn't be too hard. The folks in charge look like they've written programs that decode the information from the blockchain. I say get Tor and look for the discussion based on the endchan threads related to this. That's where I would start.

Nahte27

I would like to know this as well, as I have a couple PCs I might be willing to crunch on.

snowmandan

I'm going to try to find the right thread to point you fellas in the right direction!
