He's giving mixed signals

Theupsidedown

This article makes him pretty easy to find...I give it a couple of weeks before he becomes "suicidal..."

DefenderOfTruth

Yes, and why is he showing his cards to the public? I'd be laying low for awhile if I were him.

golly

Stuff like this belong in /v/news or something, not on a sub dedicated to investigating pizza gate. But I seem to be a minority thinking that. Soon this whole place will be filled with meta threads and news stories that have zip all to do with pizza gate. Nobody will miss me, I'm sure.

21yearsofdigging

I do hear you Golly. I have been guilty of it as well. I have to keep reminding myself that my goal was to expose the truth behind Washington Pedos, connecting the dots from or to Pizzagate and the Clinton Foundation

DontTreadOnMemes

You don't think that a fully encrypted platform for crowdsourced research is relevant to this forum?

quantokitty

Glad his warrior spirit is intact. Amazing that everyone trying to disrupt and out this cabal is sent to prison while the actual pedophiles are running around free and, apparently, eating a lot of pizza. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know, I don't know what will. I look forward to what Barrett Brown will do in the coming months.

Yuke

If I'm honest with myself, I can't see how this guy is ever going to be able to do much without the authorities being either once step behind it, or actually behind it. It never sat well with me that someone like him would be associated with Anonymous. The very fact that he put himself out there said plenty. He likes the spotlight, he made a name for himself, he smoked his cigarettes. If the elites are ever going to fall, it is going to take an unknown or unknown's to make it happen. All you have to do is cut the head off the snake for it to die.

BC_Based

Anyone know if Barrett might find http://matrix.org/ useful? Maybe they could help collaborate on Brown's Pursuant project?

"Matrix is an open standard for decentralised communication, providing simple HTTP APIs and open source reference implementations for securely distributing and persisting JSON over an open federation of servers."

GoHeadBeGoneWithIt

we elected Donald Trump!

SavingGrace

I encourage everyone to watch the short clip contained with the article on his release. Have no doubt that Barrett Brown will do great things for humanity given half a chance.
Pray Trump does the right thing by the good journalists.

"Ideas are bulletproof"

Annon365

This reminds me of a video I came across when researching pizzagate, forget who it was , sure it was a journalist who was killed who predicted that the future would be citizen journalism/investigations done by groups of people online. Exactly what we are doing here. Would be great if there was a platform for specificity this, not just for pizzagate but for Everthing! That is the future. Justice for all :)

Ihatepizza2

" Would be great if there was a platform.... not just for pizzagate but for Everthing! "

I have crafted that exact idea - we need to couple a forum with the block chain. as mentioned above i will be sharing later today - will post here.

Annon365

Brilliant, the technical side goes over my head but the idea is amazing , look forward to seeing the results

Hey, thanks for this!! GREAT news!

Loved this part, "Brown says Pursuant’s design will let users create efficient hierarchies, while still allowing anyone to start contributing without the hurdles of joining an organized NGO or media outfit. “People can just show up and begin working,”...

Sort of like here! :o)

I'm kind of mixed feelings about trump and his view towards whistle blowers.

What is your thoughts, and why?

DontTreadOnMemes

Trump had no problem glorifying the whistleblowers during the campaign trail. Time will tell in how he treats them as President.

GoHeadBeGoneWithIt

i am absolutely disgusted with his views on them. The government shouldn't be hiding shit from the people at all. Whistleblowers are necessary. Hope he changed his mind after seeing how important wikileaks was in getting him elected

2impendingdoom

the very concept of state secrets or national security is in contradiction to the Constitution

madhatter67

It's completely arse about face....

The state gets to do so much in secret with no accountability, yet can snoop into everything we all do with no process or probable cause

In the US you did have the 4th amendment to protect you from that, but seems that's isn't worth the paper it's written on anymore

2impendingdoom

I say the NSA should make their information available to everyone. Let the tables turn. (that's kind of what's happening here, but it needs go further). The bill of rights (Amendments 1-10) and the Constitution, its all being torn to bits and shreds. Where I normally am not a huge guns person, I am for 2A just out of principle, if one amendment can be weakened, it will start a pattern. We've depended on these rights and take them as a given but this destruction from within is a whole new animal. Treason is not thrown around much, except for whistleblowers. "State secrets" and "national security" as an excuse to avoid FIOA needs to end.

stickittotheman

Another hero that went down because he threatened to expose the kid fuckers. Great news he is out.

Infopractical

Can anyone put me in touch with him? I have helped build one of the world's largest academic forums and am planning a project that dovetails with Brown's in a beautiful and essential way.

Ihatepizza2

I wrote a paper over the last few nights that describes how we might build a record that cannot be scrubbed or deleted from the internet. I am also trying to contact Barrett. Ill post the paper somehwere tonight and ill point you in the direction. Would appreciate that if you can find BB that you can tell me where to contact him.

Anonymous’ Barrett Brown Is Free—and Ready to Pick New Fights | WIRED

'His Pursuant work will be devoted to analyzing and publicizing leaked and hacked documents, not stealing them. '

'Pursuant, as Brown describes it, would be an open-source, end-to-end-encrypted collaboration platform anyone could host on their own server. '

'He’s already signed a low-six-figure book deal with Farrar, Strauss and Giroux for a combination memoir and manifesto. '

'Today, just a few weeks after Brown walked out of Texas’s Three Rivers Federal Correctional Institute, Anonymous has shrunk to a thin imitation of the hacker army it once was. '

'Aside from his own book advance, he isn’t ready to name any sources of funding, either. '
