Because...shills.

Being downvoated and called "Shill" from multiple people on my first night commenting definitely makes me want to stick to lurking.

For me, this has been like the wild, Wild West of social interaction. I've been on the sidelines observing people's contributions being lambasted in very disparaging terms. I've lurked a little on 4chan, and it made my eyes bleed! A healthy conversation with polite parameters would encourage more dialogue, perhaps.

I'm very late to all of this. Trying to catch up on what is going on so far but I don't even know where to start.

This is my reason. I am like a Neanderthal when it comes to computers. I have had to google every word and abbreviation just so I know what is being talked about. I had never heard of a shill or bot before. And some people, not all, can be brutal when mistakes are made. If there is a way I can help let me know. The truth is I don't know how to help. I was molested by my step uncle. He ended up being a producer at CBS in NY. So I'm sure there are plenty in the media. I hade a complete break down at 40 because my daughter turned 5 which was the age it started with me. I had never told anyone. I ended up with a 7 day vacation at the looney bin in the suicidal ward. I know how bad this fucks with victims. What I went through was bad but I can't even imagine the horrors of what these kids are going through. Funny thing he died young, in his 40's, from complications from the flu. I'm certainly willing to help, I just don't know how but if someone could direct me I will be more than happy to help.

Some people are afraid to post.

That is why I started posting here. To show support to researchers. I will put myself (my identity to be found by the evil ones) at risk to support this cause. Many are afraid to do that. The more of us that do, the harder it is to stop us. I post openly on Facebook about this subject and more.

What horrendous things have these children been through? How many have been murdered? Do they not deserve our commitment to save them? Researchers here are putting themselves at risk to help saves lives. They are heroes and deserve our support.

Please join people. Post, support the cause and help save a child's life. Save humanity from these vile scum. Every single voice counts.

I post very little. I only post when I have something useful to contribute. Otherwise, I lurk and learn. Some upvotes would be helpful though. I still can't downvoat posts. Check my comment history. I am not a shill.

At this still early phase there is a veritable torrent of information streaming in that few can digest.

It will take a while for people to connect enough dots in a way that they feel they can contribute.

In the meantime the best that all of us can do is upvote good content and comments, and in the real world simply ask questions using what you know to help spread awareness.

For most of this I've been a lurker. Commenting here and there, but mostly just informing myself. It's definitely interesting to see the shillery first hand on some threads and other media for that matter. I try to comment only when I might have something relevant to share, but I'm also kind of struggling to get to the downvote-ability threshold. Hard out here for a lurker.

I come here to upvoat those doing good research.

Taking in information, personally

Please make as much noise about this as you can, if only for posterity, if we don't succeed in convictions, so at least people will hopefully still remember what was done in this time and era, and how never to repeat it. I think this is an eternal battle...evil seems to be winning - but I know better days can and will come. It's like we're rowing against the tide, but we have to keep going, because the tide will go out one day, and things will start getting easier, and lighter. Maybe it's a cycle of ages or just a natural process. I don't know. But keep going, always.

I joined to show support. I'm sure to add something later. I don't want this investigation to be forgotten. It's important.

im not a deep Internet researcher by any means but do want to help. But I'm not an idiot and so if there is something that needs to be looked over or something that needs to be written up, give it to me And I'll do it. IOW I'll gladly do some specific grunt work.

If there are any disgusted fbi agents out there keeping tabs, I think it would be safe to say we feel your pain. I can't imagine what it's like to have the real evidence on these devils, and not be able to do anything.

It wouldn't surprise me if they just sign up for many accounts but only use them for voting and let them age so they can later be used to steer opinions when they seem like trustworthy old members!

Time to stand up, only when all legs work together do we become the great centipede.

I am so interested in the information that is finally coming out. I saw this sexualization of children when I was young. It was part of my culture. But I do not know how to use voat. So I am trying to learn so I can participate. I am sure many people are like me, who lived it. But they are scared and unsure.

Could be a fuck load of bots+shills don't know if they'd contribute?

It's also Christmas so people just have a lot going on now.

I want to stay up to date on all of this but don't have a lot of extra time to dig like some of you. I do try to upvote as much as possible and now have downvotes yay! I just want to support the researchers on here as much as possible with what little I can do.

I think many are coming to learn, many dont feel that they can usefully contribute anything, many dont want to contribute for fear of being jumped on or downvoated as it is quite a harsh place, and then the shills. Some may be victims [edit survivors] who dont like what can be an adversial atmosphere. I think everyone can contribute in terms of learning and spreading the word- the public understanding is what we need to change, then the numbers will take care of the abusers. Voat is not the most welcoming place to newbies. There appears little system also - if someone wants to work on one topic with others, chances are the thread is nowhere easily found

Lurkers; im guessing journos fishing for a story or politicos concerned with our detective work.

Voat isn't the best system in my opinion. Too easy for things to get buried and no good way to sort threads into categories like you can in a forum.

Because of the lack of organization, I think we have more lurkers.

Some are just lurkers or people trying to stay up to date.
