Some say its a rare event? Others say it is common in those born with fetal alcohol syndrome? Don't you just love all the misinformation! So irrigating!
I get that they believe this genetic divine crap. All I know is it is Evil and disturbing and seems a lot of innocent people have become victims of this sickness.
But it doesn't make any sense if they can get it from mothers who drank while pregnant, verses say a chosen "one". These freaks think those with this abnormality are chosen. So, if it not so rare, then I do not see the significance.
Yes it does because it will be accompanied by other unique characteristics particular that genetic quirk. Such as, a difference in the pineal gland for example, such as was found in the northern Egyptian group who were found to be without pineal glands and with the pax6 genetic mutation, full aphasia of the eye.

The point is regarding the genetic significance of the mark, fetal alcohol syndrome is not part of this genetic discussion really, is it?

while interesting to get possible historical examples of this coloboma, this is pretty off topic so I'm flagging for relevance

Give me an hour and I will include more.
