Voat was started... what... a year? Year and a half ago? Reddit was pulling some operational fuckery (I think it was that interim CEO chick who fired everyone). No one gave a shit about Voat back then. Fastfoward to PizzaGate, which validated years of /r/conspiracy existing, and the subs get banned. That's when everyone jumped over to Voat, finally.
