voatsucksreally rule 4 please repost over in /v/pizzagatewhatever so you don't clog up the investigative page.

voatsucksreally

You got it, chief.

RebelSkum

I agree here. Open discussion does not necessarily have to mean every random bit of noise has to be included and left on the site. Gotta improve that signal/noise ratio.

edit: Have some way to flair or mark it as speculative or some such so it's obvious there's at least no verified evidence presently included

RebelSkum

Thanks for another helpful platform for speculative discussion! I made a contribution today and will make some more, but I'm glad to see you've made improvements!

faissaloo

Make sure you have a .onion version too, it's not unlikely that some people will want to stay anonymous.

Toogi23

I like the sound of the hoax/misinfo etc, I would look there first so as not to get bogged down with known disinfo, this lab rat likes to make advances not repeat mistakes.

lhunterel

I checked out your page, and it looked like a neutered version of what we have here. Shills are the only problem for the intelligent here and it looks like a shill playground over there. I will just stay here, even though I get called a shill every other day, lol. I think mods are a necessary evil.

justanotherpizza

The problem with this new site is that even if the owner has good intentions (which is unknown currently), a one man show doesn't stand a chance against the shill activity going on. This site is struggling to keep the BS at bay, and has a whole team.

If you really want to further pizzagate you should first seed with content, and setup a good mod team. Of course if you just want a site with lots of users and activity, the shills will grant your wish.

clowntrash

I prefer voat.

So this Korean video with the basement story isn't even real? It's a hoax? This doesn't seem right. So if you KNOW a story is a hoax, you still won't delete it?

voatsucksreally

I don't know if the Korean video with the basement is real or not, as I haven't had a chance to personally research it yet - that's what the community is for (can't research when I'm spending all my time building the site). But yes, if it is a hoax, it will be labeled as a hoax and kept on the site. Why? Because then anytime someone sees or searches for that information, they will see the words "hoax" or "dead lead" (whichever it is labeled as) it will always show. I want this to be a respository of information so people can cross-reference topics and info. A big problem that we experienced on /r/pizzagate and here on /v/pizzagate is that people constantly repost the same information they find (whether it's accurate or not) because they haven't seen anywhere telling them that it is inaccurate or has already been discovered and discussed. By keeping even the hoax posts up in the repository, people now and in the future will always be able to refer to it as a hoax/dead lead. Of course, if the majority of the community disagrees with this practice I would consider changing it, but to be honest I think this is a good method to handle it. Only time will tell.

srayzie

When I first seen the site, I was for it and felt bad that people were being so rude to you here after you worked so hard. But now something doesn't feel right to me. I guess only time will tell. I hope I'm wrong.

voatsucksreally

I didn't create it. You may need to reread my response again to understand what I said. That is a user who joined the site and posted it. So it is a real world example which, as I mentioned, will be filed away as dead lead/misinformation.

voatsucksreally

Well, since the site is so new, I wanted to see how the community reacts and handles this type of situation. My site is against censorship and post deletion, and will be run from the perspective of encouraging dialogue instead of deleting and forcing mod/admin opinions down people's throats. Posts that are decided by the community to be bullshit or wrong will be filed away in a tag called "dead leads" or "misinformation" (as opposed to being deleted). If you look, there was another post I'm sure you would consider bullshit, but instead of discouraging the person from posting and doing research and deleting their post, I responded with a reason for why it is not a strong connection. Soon it will be filed away as a "dead lead". (sorry OP if you're ready this, just using you as an example). The exception to this rule is obviously if someone posts CP or anything illegal - in these circumstances posts will be deleted immediately and user will be permanently banned.

edit to avoid confusion since @pizzagateDOTcom misunderstood what I wrote: When I said that, I mean that I am looking to see how the community wants to handle it (when users post weak leads and misinformation). Not that it was a test post done by me. That is someone who was obviously posting and trying to promote his site at the same time.

LawofTruth

I agree with your mission. What's the point of deleting posts? Let the community decide what is worthy lead or what's is disinfo. VOAT had been almost choked out of existence. Thanks for your hard work I've signed up and look forward to having a competing platform.
