To me, it seems like Henry Darger maybe witnessed and survived some sick stuff when he was young and trauamatized for it. I coule be wrong and he is sick himself.
I interpet his work as a tribute to a group of girls he knew that went through horrendous things and maybe were all killed in the end. He was a kid, didn't save them then and carried that with him. Maybe he tried to put their story and memory out? I don't know, it is very disturbing art. Justine strikes me as mocking it and evil people I could see buying it to further mock him.
Could be completely offbase and Darger is total scum too. I don't know the inside of sickos brains. I do get the impression he knew those girls. He names them. Woule be curious if there are records of the mental institute he was at as a kid and if those girls names were registered there too.
