I think many journalists are just so stuck in this mind numbing elitist self-satisfied look-at-me-I'm-doing-great-with-all-my-fancy-friends bubble that they genuinely think it's an absurd fake news story and so it seems shocking that a serious journalist would cover it. They can't believe that they might be wrong, or admit thinking differently about pizza gate, because that would be socially and professionally humiliating, so they act this way. I think the vast majority of journalists in the mainstream are like this, and they're not really journalists either, they're just repeaters of words someone else told them, and they got their job through nepotism not for their smarts, so there's no danger of them thinking about what they're reporting on in any depth.

Will Sommer is a twat. His days of popularity and fame are numbered. He'll be going down in shame, just like Megan Kelly and so many others when all hell breaks loose about Pizzagate. It happened with the Savile story and other scandals and it will happen again, you can count on it. The truth always comes out in the end. However, sensitive cases like these have to go through a particular process before being fully exposed, and this famous Gandhi quote pretty much sums it up: "First they ignore you.
