Yes! Sometimes I forget there are members on here who have never had a kid or baby sat one long enough. They are going to be really surprised one day, they will learn just how much effort it can take to carry a baby. I remember my brother telling me I was over reacting with my first kid. One day he watched my son for me while I shopped. I came back home, he said "Okay, you were right, this baby is like jello!" He had almost dropped my baby several times.

THE HIP CARRY! God am I glad to be over that stage, my youngest LOVED to do that and I hated it because, he liked to wiggle until he could "slide" off of me, thinking it was sooo funny. Like you said, it's so much easier to do the crotch/thigh carry, that way they can flail around all they want and I don't have to fear that they're about to slide off or jump out of my arms and knock themselves out!

I had to "rescue" the gal I'm mentoring AGAIN...she's in a panic over the snowsuit car seat controversy...it took some time to undo that asshattery. I should probably never be given any public leadership job. The first thing I'd do is mandate reversible, but permanent tube clamping on all newborns if a way can be found to do it without too much invasion. Then if a person wants to reproduce they need to go through a vetting process and prove they are actually fit to become a parent, both intellectually and physical care wise. I could do away with stupid people in about 50 years that way...and end child abuse...and rampant breeding and child poverty.

Sigh....I know, I know...never let me become dictator of the free world. I've seen so many horrific things happening to children...that making sure people cannot have them unless that child will be loved and not subject to any forms of abuse...that's more important than an adult's unbridled "right" to reproduce and fuck up another human for life.

Boy Scouts? Ah...not..maybe depending...athletic coaches? FUCK...keep sports and coaching on the field, no field trips,NO overnights...(my soccer coach ended up being a very famous serial rapist...for reals...and oddly my parents NEVER let me participate in team activities off the soccer field.) If you're gonna have them, raise them yourself. That's all. Our culture of handing our kids over to someone else to raise=fucked up kids as we see the first daycare generation aka Millennials/Snowflakes...hitting the streets. It's insanity.

Holding or carrying them by the crotch area is common because it is easier and more comfortable for the baby, and like you said, they are wearing a diaper, so it's not like you're actually touching anything.

What's scary is that David Lynch made that film to show people the shocking truth about what goes on in every seemingly innocent town, it's supposed to disturb you.
