She was so sick that she died a year later. How come he could care for these very sick kids, but not his own wife. That's very strange. Where did she go when they divorced?

Thank you for defining hospice to me when I already know what hospice means. Hospice can be used as a means to kill people who aren't terminal. And their methods aren't exactly always legit even for people who will die soon. Yes it can be a helpful practice if it's truly palliative care. But sometimes it's not that.

I think this story is 100% on the level, and this guy really is doing great work. However I am suspicious of the media and the timing. This guy has been doing this for years, but the story runs now.

One thing that popped out to me is the fact the child he is presently caring for has a rare form of the malformation yet he was also the foster parent for three other children with this same condition, now what are the odds of that? Did all the parents voluntarily give up custody of these children or were their children removed from them? The article also states that he spends some of his days fighting with insurance companies when it's a known fact that Medicaid covers the full cost of foster children. There are several children's hospitals in the US that appear to be removing a number of children with medical complexities who just so happen to also be doing research through grants for those same conditions. Just sayin'

My top thought: How messed up is that for his own son to have to watch all these foster brothers and sisters come in and die in his house like that? Especially since he has brittle bone disease and perhaps wouldn't want all those reminders of his own mortality?

Looks to me like a fluff piece written to show how wonderful Muslims are. Notable especially because of the location, but also because it gives a look at how child services works over there. A guy takes in kids no one else wants and everyone is grateful. No questions. Maybe nothing behind it, but still good to make note of.

The foster care system is definately ripe for abuse, but unfortunately there are a lot of terminally ill children in the system who must be cared for. Typically children like this have in home nurses (according to the article this girl does too), and frequent medical intervention. These types of children tend to have more outside eyes on them than regular foster kids, and that extra oversight is good to help ensure they are being cared for and not abused. It's good to be aware of potential areas for pedos to have access to kids, but this story seems legit. He seems like one of the good ones.
