Well, I imagine that the scope of this thing is massive, and they need to address every angle they can before pulling the lever. Also, Trump only came into his true power less than a month ago, and still is not at his full capabilities, especially considering that the old admin likely did everything it could to stall him before they left.

Not to mention the raging shitstorm that has not ended since he won the election. The White House has a LOT to contend with at the moment. Assaults from all sides. Traitors everywhere.
