Allow me to summarise the most important parts of this interview.

Tammi Stefano is the Executive Director of The National Safe Child Coalition who has spent over 20 years fighting for child safety. Citing a 2014 child sex traficking case in Orange County, she says that 65% of the 105 child victims were wards of the Child Protective Servies and that not a single one of these children were ever reported as missing.

She goes on to suggest that powerful and politically influential people are involved in child sex traficking:

"This traficking is a lot bigger and more politically involved than we care to look at or the media will cover. There are some real, big heavy hitters who are very influencial that are involved."

Asked if the children are being sold for sexual purposes, she said that in some cases the children are sold up to 75 times in a single time and raped by 75 different men. She says that child sex traficking is an extremely profitable industry:

"Absolutely. Children are sold. There have been cases where the same child was sold up to 75 times in a single day, and abused by 75 different johns. The child traficking and human traficking industry right now makes more money than the illegal drug trade and illegal arms trade combined. Children are definitely a commodity to make money."

She discusses a case where a mother sent her 15-year old child to a group home; when the mother came back for a visit, the mother's daughter and three other girls at the group home were missing. "You have to bear in mind," Stefano points out, "that the gates around this group home are too high and they are locked electronically. You cannot get out. There is also a full staff." When the girl was located over a year later, it was discovered that she had been locked up, imprisoned, and abused as a sex slave by several johns.

Tammi Stefano says that 62-75% of foster care children are kidnapped within 48 hours after 'aging out' (i.e. after they turn 18 and leave their foster homes), a clear indication that the foster care system has been heavily infiltrated by persons involved in child and human sex traficking:

"A colleague of mine that runs an organisation called the Humanitarian Alliance found out that within 48 hours after children in the foster care system are 'aged out', 62-75% of them are captured. How can that be? There are definitely insiders involved in human traficking."
