"Fake News" definitely came about after the Pizzagate scandal hit the internet. That term seemed like a direct response from what I remember. Not sure how to prove it, but google trends has some graphs that show it quite clearly. Date Pizzagate subreddit got banned. Vs. date of "Fake News" initiation.

I was pretty skeptical of mods for deleting my two posts until I finally found the rules hahah (sorry about that mods). Hopefully there is a good reason? This is a good point though. Overall manipulation tactics and how we handle them are important.
