The 'art show' in the tunnels around Dupont Circle they are planning for the spring is probably a cover to destroy as much evidence down there as they can.
I bet it's in one the private clubs that exist all over DC. Think about it. There are members only clubs all over. No one shits where they eat. Not even drug dealers. These are sophisticated criminals with ops all over the world, Although, I do find that McLean mansion fire sketchy as hell. Despite all the lather over a possible basement or tunnels, I think it's likely comet has always been mainly a gathering spot for creeps and pedophiles, who sneak off to more remote places for their worst activities. I see it as more of a meeting spot/hub.
The place likely still has some secrets though, and probably does contain some kind of evidence of crimes.
I thought it interesting to see the posts recently looking at interior photos that suggested the likely presence of a loft or second floor over the kitchen, office and bathroom areas. There is definitely plenty of space for a loft, although ceiling height is probably under 8 feet. Whether this could hold secret rooms or just storage, I don't know.
