Its so easy to threaten parents these days with "I'm gonna call CPS on you" and make someone's lives hell. It happened to a co-worker who was totally innocent, but woman was a crackhead neighbor who was very envious of my friends happy family life with husband and two kids and had called CPS in a jealous rage, making up a bunch of shit.

Pray it doesn't happen to you.

Um, what about school ? More teachers are implicated in pedo crime than any other industry.

Also, you can't protect kids too much otherwise it'll have an adverse effect. They'll endanger themselves further by trying anything and everything once they're 'let out of the cage'....and remember: kids are very good at manipulating. They're not always going to tell you the truth about what they're up to.

I overheard a woman at the WIC office bitching about the bio parents of her foster daughter and she was probably one of the trashiest looking people I've ever seen in my life. She was in there specifically to get free formula for the baby, acting desperate. Sorry but when you have an INFANT and you're getting paid stipends to take care of her you don't need to bitch about everything imaginable including not getting your free formula. She told the WIC lady "I'm not gonna lie, she's not going back to them" (referring to the bio parents). This woman was so entitled to this other person's child it was unreal. Thinking about how these people actually think about CPS, like it's some sort of non-issue that they just stole a person's baby and gave them to some dumbass who can't afford to take care of them anyway and who was bragging that the court "court-ordered removed" the child (um, duh) just makes me extremely pissed off.

And then there are the people who can't wait to get their hands on the kids for the sex. Kids are more likely to die or be raped or molested in foster care in part because you have people signing up who are seeking out being a foster parent because they are opportunists. I don't know anymore whether I think CPS is full of abuse because people infiltrate it, or because foster parents can be opportunists, or because CPS itself is corrupt, but I'm beginning to think it's because CPS is corrupt. Financial incentives to remove children probably aren't limited to just tax dollars. I'd be willing to bet that there are many politicians on the boards of CPS who covertly arrange for the sex trafficking and take bribes.

There's someone out there waiting to be a hero. All they have to do is release the 650k emails. Who will it be?
