http://www.mormonstories.org/indian-placement-program/ Religious groups, primarily Mormons, were heavily involved in adoption programs. The purpose was to assimilate aboriginal native indians into the white culture. It was considered prestigious and ''good-doing' to participate and I'm not sure if there were money incentives attached.

I recently viewed the posted video of the social worker who only spent a year in the industry discussing what happens to these children there is and the congresswoman who was killed. Vice did a video recently called Standing Rock which is on youtube 2-part series and in part one the women are describing past abuses of the state onto their nation.

What is going on in Standing Rock is abominable. I am sure that there is much abuse of women and children by the Army Corps and the people with the Oil Companies. They have very little respect for our Native Americans. We stole their land, gave some back, and now we want what very little we gave them, back again. So very very wrong and I am more than positive they are taking their children.
