Not quite sure how to feel about this... Does any human have control over their initial set of attractions and hard-wire pathings for these things?

Are all of these progressive ideals simply mishandled paradoxes? Like... has our cultural perversion of spirituality for example doomed us to pervert the treatment and ideology towards all of our conditions?
