I was thinking the same thing. What an intelligent and beautiful young lady. I'm surprised she let herself get involved with it, but I totally understand how she did. Also, the title of the video on YouTube is a little misleading. This doesn't have anything to do with DC., this is set in VA beach/Norfolk/Newport News area- Southeast Virginia. Almost a 5 hour drive from DC. But very good info!!

This is a good report on the topic. Here is a point worth reinforcing: there is a prosecutor dealing with likely trafficking victims and he never understands the game until his high schooler does a report on human trafficking. He had a framework in mind for the way the world worked, so cognitive dissonance shut out the details. This kind of "the brain makes it invisible" effect should be talked about more---particularly in the wake of a solid reporting job like this one.
