Pedophilia is predatory in its nature. This, I don't believe, is a simple case of needing release. The corruption of innocence is the motive. I don't see the dolls helping at all, in fact, I see the dolls as encouraging pedophilia.

It would be far wiser to figure out from a scientific standpoint why these individuals are attracted to children and develop a treatment for it that would adjust their attractions to ages able to consent. I doubt sheer suppression will be all that effective, let alone quiet encouragement with sex dolls. While I see what they're trying to get at with the "outlet" thing, it completely ignores the underlying problem and runs the already mentioned risk of "escalation".

Rapists get off on the pain and trauma they cause the victim. The victim crying arouses them. An emotionless doll isn't going to cut it for these pedos. There probably are non-offender pedophiles but if they are to integrate into society they need to be conditioned to lose their unwanted urges and have to genuinely want to try to change. Erotic plasticity is the answer. Giving such people a sex doll just reinforces the behavior and after a while they will want to graduate to the real thing.
