Whether true or not, and it is dubious, who cares about the distinction of "stranger abduction" if the reality is that many of these sick cases involve a relative. The mission of such an organization should be to expose the risks and threats, including if they involve abductions by family.

I agree that it's important to expose all kidnappings however I think the natural instinct is to fear predator abductions from strangers because most people would know a few places to start looking if it was a family member, and you would be able to ID them, whereas with a stranger abduction you're almost guaranteed to never see your child again. I'm scared of stranger abductions myself, and I do not send my younger kids to any type of daycare so you'd pretty much have to grab them from my arms or break in in the middle of the night or kidnap them from school.

So Polly was one of the 100 for her year? I think this statistic is waaaaay off. This may have been true in the 20th century...not now.

It is weird. But it is true that most abuse happens at the hands of family and those close by

MyNameIsLuka

So, this is weird. They took the foundation away from Polly's parents?

This whole article makes me think we should be investigating those who are running the current Polly Klaas Foundation: http://www.pollyklaas.org/about/whoweare.html

It is criminal what they did to this father and seems so transparent that their goals oppose doing the right things to help missing kids. They fought him for the publicity he brought to the movement and for trying to pass legislation related to it.

Polly's mother is involved in the other organization.

Here's the story

Sounds like they are low-key saying pizzagate is fake news, doesn't it?

AreWeSure

No. That info has been on their site for years.

How many kids do you think are kidnapped every year?
