I can tell that the majority disagree with my opinion of this incident. My only intention was to put it out there and leave it for every one to decide for themselves. I am not here for accolades so the downvoates don't bothers me, it just shows perhaps I am over reacting. I will move on to other threads my opinion has been made. See you all around. To understand this, you'd have to know and understand russian culture. It means that Putin respects the kid and all children as they are the future. A country without kids has no future. Also the words "stomach" and "life" sound somewhat similar in Russian (zhivot and zhizn'). By kissing the belly, he was recognizing and celebrating life and future. It's not supposed to be pedo, just something deep in their culture and with much symbolism.

Also I would like to add that Russian history also shows many pedos in power, but I read this reasearch in another language, so posting the evidence here would be quite pointless.

There's nothing abnormal about kissing a baby's stomach. Kissing babies is a traditional part of politics. Sometimes the stomach is cleaner than the face.
