This is a common thing with hacking hospitals... a hospital overseas recently paid around 60,000 in the same situation and their reason was, they needed to keep operating. Patients records were locked up and everything. So I doubt they're hiding anything

Hafta mention that companies will sometimes pay ransom in order to keep their business running. If the hospital had the choice of paying the ransom or shutting down for days or weeks, they may have decided to pay. Just to play devils advocate, I can see it the other way as well, thats its a ransom on incriminating things that got hacked...but its possible its less than that, immo.

I should say, what were they worried would leak? this is pizzagate related because organizations have been known to collude with child traffickers.

Did you read the article? Their system files were encrypted, they paid to unlock the files in a timely manner, not to hide something.
