This issue is being framed incorrectly by the MSM and the Left. All it does is place the control of Internet content to the FTC rather than the FCC. Under the FCC, which the Obama Admin wanted, the government can control the content just like they do on Broadcast TV and radio. Under the FTC, it is a trade issue.

They are making it about browser history, when that is not the issue. You will be able to opt out of sharing your info.

If you're for free speech, you need to be for this bill.

Isn't most pedo stuff on the dark web? I doubt your browsing history on a TOR browser is tracked. I don't know.

Littleredcorvette

I haven't read much on the specifics of the bill however generally speaking it sounds like the bill is legalizing the ability to spy (by purchasing info from isps) on these people, openly and legally, so evidence can be gathered for court cases. I wonder if the public at large could purchase this info? Hmmm....

But if trump is for it, and pelosi is against it, it must be bad news for the ped0s.

"But if trump is for it, and pelosi is against it, it must be bad news for the ped0s."

Too simplistic.

In this case, I don't think so. It was like President Obama cancelling the DAPL pipeline after the election, although he could have use the gov to stop it before any of it was ever built. It was a Dem PR victory while the GOP took the PR hit.

At this point I'm just not sure how much it Matters since privacy is a sham. And I think it's wise to distrust anyone who wants us to believe there is such a thing bc its a flat out lie. Just like these agencies created to protect our children (ncmec, etc). They lie to our faces like the sociopaths they are and we allow ourselves to be gaslighted like the victims we've been trained to be.

Psalm100

From what I've read, I don't think this bill is about nothing. I think it represents a real loss of privacy. We haven't had absolute privacy online, of course, but we've had a great deal of it, from what I've read, and this bill apparently takes it all away.

Judgejewdy

Ha. After i started investigating PG and all my access to Internet via Google and my isp has been blocked I realized there is no such thing as Internet privacy, even for an insignificant plebe like me. We live in North Korea, we just don't realize it.

Judgejewdy

At least allowing it to be sold Let's everyone know they are being monitored. Then again, how's that theory go, something about true control can only take place when you know you're being watched - then we start doing their jobs for them?

roundhouse1776

All the politicians, elites, and others in the ruling class will be exempt from the law. This is just another decision that fucks over us peasant folk.

VIrginiaPerson

Thanks for bringing up this thought. I noticed that the Trump admin was for it and that seemed curious to me. Now knowing Pelosi is against it that makes me more curious. On the outside it sounds bad but maybe it's good in a way we can't see yet.

Psalm100

I think it's all fake, like pro wrestling. The GOP does the dirty work and will take the political hits while giving the corporations what they want, and Dems will get political credit for seeming to oppose it.

VIrginiaPerson

Hmm I could easily see that. Sadly.

There's nothing curious about this one. The Democrats are on the right side of this issue and the Republicans are not. They are listening to the contributions of broadband companies who would make a ton of money selling this info and targeting ads to you. The guy who know heads the FCC was put in that position by Trump and first recommended to the board by Mitch McConnell. The FCC has five commissioners. 3 from one major party and two from the other. Right now two seats are vacant and it's 2-1 in favor of Republicans.

I have one question. They are not selling individual info, right? It wouldn't be Bob likes to post on Voat and he watches Big Bang Theory and drives a Mazda. It would X from St Louis posts on Voat...... ......Mazda. Anyone know?

DarkMath

"The Democrats are on the right side of this issue and the Republicans are not."

That's what I thought at first too. But there's one thing that changed my mind. If Trump and Sessions have the browsing history of some of these perps it may lead to more evidence of corruption.

Also it could be the browsing history won't be admissible in court until we officially make it legal again to access someone's browsing history.

equineluvr

"If Trump and Sessions have the browsing history of some of these perps"

POTUs does not investigate crimes, you dipshit.

DarkMath

Whatever you say horsefucker.

Judgejewdy

This is what I'm wondering! The case has to be air tight, not sure how else to get records when the aholes are in charge of all the data.

Judgejewdy

My gut reaction was/is to be appalled by it. Until I remember that Internet privacy is already nonexistent - except the government/tptb has a monopoly on the information. They police themselves, by being the only ones allowed access to the information. And we see how that has gone. How are we supposed to take down the Power if we don't allow equal access to other entities? This might very well be a step to a true FOIA!

MysticMa

On that note, you may be absolutely correct... and it may be a legit way to snag those from top down to make a case that would stick. Right now we know NSA has all that but gov. can't use it to bring any charges. Right?

SayWhatNOWAY

Nancy Poosay is only against it, cuz she knows her no vote will not matter. It's all for show. She probably has a half dozen or more kids locked in the basement of her Goat Hill Pizza place! Evil old Pedo!
