There are only 1,268 admins at Wikipedia even though it is read by millions. They have the greatest control on what stays and what goes. To get even considered to become an admin you have to make over 10,000 edits to articles. They inflated the number of edits required to ridiculous lengths so that they can keep it a tightly controlled group.
