The original story of Peter Pan involved him killing children for immortality. Ask yourselves why Disney decided to flip roles and make Captain Hook - who would kill the child murderer - the bad guy. Its not like they don't know this stuff. To them its a funny joke, to twist the story and make the childkiller the hero.
