Silverlining

I couldn't see anything overtly illegal on a quick skim - maybe drug use.

Lying about your age online is not a crime. Think dating sites.

However, seeking out children (whether a real or pretend age of 13) and making sexual remarks is a crime.

Reporting this encounter to authorities is not a crime either.

You have no idea who or even how many people you are talking to. You are foolish and have already been warned. You should heed those warnings.

Who are you and why do you talk like that?

They are obviously a NAZI who thinks they can tell others how to post. :)

This is not a good idea. I am sorry I do not know about laws in the U.K. But in the US you must have law enforcement powers to do this and then it is highly scrutinized as far as evidence orcentrapment.

ponyfriend

Yes this is correct, even when such organizations work with LEO to gather evidence, such evidence is often thrown out of court as any capable lawyer would successfully argue this is entrapment. I know the USA justice system has lots of problems, but that doesn't mean you can go around it. I've heard of similar vigilante groups in the USA but I suspect joining any of them is quite dangerous legally and there is always a chance they're infiltrated by the government (like occupy wall street was, like anonymous the hacker groupd, like 4chan, reddit, etc)

B_dog

It's not entrapment if the target has a predisposition. The key to avoiding entrapment is to let the target suggest the illegal activity. So in the case of PG subject matter, an investigator would only reveal their supposed age. If the pretend child encourages the behavior too much, that might be entrapment.

But think about what you're saying another way. Is it really necessary to use actual kids as bait? I sure hope not. And based on numerous successful sting operations, it's not in reality.

ponyfriend

Good to know. I am not an expert and from what I have seen actual kids are never used as bait. I've heard of groups that do this, post-pizzagate and in general, and even tho vigilante seems like an easy option, I personally have stayed away. The group probably is careful to follow laws. I believe they are in Arizona. I forget where I heard about it, probably YouTube. it was specifically designed as a response to pizzagate (and now wider pedogate). as for the non-profits that work with law enforcement they have adults pretend to be minors in the chat room. You are right, if the target has a predisposition it should be held up in court.

We have to get the laws changed in all countries to allow us civilian rights to pedophile hunting.
