I am not sure which is worse...living in conditions upon which the UN must get involved or the UN in fact getting involved. Its really more like Dante Alighieri's levels of hell.

@Mad_As_Hell , since you say this is a reminder, I believe a discuss post with a link to the old thread would be much better. You might also want to explain why you want to remind the community right now. However, your post doesn't violate a rule, so it stays. Apologies, search function wasn't working when posted and I had only mentioned this in comments on posts relating to MINUSTAH rather than submitting my own. It's relevant due to revelations about 2000 accusations of abuse against UN in Haiti, many of which occurred under Mulet's watch

Thank you. Please read the current sticky, though. It also addresses the search on voat and gives useful alternatives!

Will do, thanks!

Guatemalan diplomat should be removed from UN over child trafficking probe - The Boston Globe

'He was also part of Les Enfants du Soleil, an international adoption ring that sourced Guatemalan children for adoptive parents in Canada. '

'A Guatemalan, Mulet is the UN Joint Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations. '

'Guatemalan adoption laws required, among other things, a social services report on the adoptive parents’ suitability. '

'It was an investigation launched by CICIG that allowed a number of adoption lawyers to be tried and convicted for child trafficking. '

'But suddenly, reports that Mulet was investigated for child trafficking by the Guatemalan authorities in 1981 have appeared like a nasty blotch of ink smeared across his impeccable resume. '
