If I upvoat something , the number may show like 5 and as soon as I upvoat, the number goes up to like 15. If I refresh, then the upvoat goes back to like 3?! Very odd

Thanks! However the archived reddit post is a warning that the domain was about to expire (not that it was bought by redditors) and this comment in the archived voat post proves the domain registration doesn't expire until this September. So it looks very much like a hoax or misunderstanding that redditors bought the domain. It could still happen though.

I remember when they were owned by saudis. That's when I vowed to stop buying, well, just about any magazine since they own just about all of them. Oddly enough, that info doesn't show up on a cursory search of wiki/Google. It was at least 10-15 years ago. So either I got it wrong back then or Google rewrites history once again.
