We actually don't really know what's going on with Putin exactly, or Russia, we hear from "sources." It has been my experience that only actually visiting another country and actually talking with "the man on the street" (and the more diverse the better) can one really ascertain what's up.

The only way I finally came to a real understanding about the friction and hatred between Northern Ireland and Ireland was by talking with an undercover "on the front line" cop friend while visiting there. So it's good for people to travel, but not simply doing a quick layover holed up in a Holiday Inn or Sheraton. I wish I had the money to do just that.
