Update: After looking into this issue, it seems like there is another file - about half the size, with personal information removed. This was stripped down and THAT file may have the Pandemic beacon inside of it. This newer file, about 1.1 GB, apparently does not.

That said, don't take any chances, I removed the file. The beacon is activated only when you access the data - so, IF it was present in the newer .zip folder released a few evening ago (and not the older 500+ MB version as originally claimed), that could pose some problems. But, it doesn't sound like this is the case.

Anyhow - be safe, be smart, assume the worst.

This could well be true but the video presents no evidence for it. I downloaded the mega upload file when it was linked on 4chan and all the zip file contained was the Guccifer 2.0 leaks (which are fake anyway) plus some minor crap, so nothing earth-shattering at all (yet another mark against Webb).
