If he is the murderer and the shooter then this was likely a hit on Scalise for his fighting human trafficking stance.

It appears to me that this would be JTH cleaning up his affairs so his wife didn't have to mess with it. This was planned. He didn't flip, go purchase a firearm, and go shoot up a field. This was planned well in advance.

The fact that she was in a mental hospital (Rainbolt) was told to the Officer by Hodgkinson. He is a known abuser so he was probably lying. I wonder when Tosha called Rainbolt to tell her she was scared someone was in her house, she might have thought it could be Hodgkinson. I don't know that for a fact, but he was an abuser, thus she may have fear of him. Maybe he had threatened to kill her, idk.
